Back Yard SunRise

I took this photo a few years ago on easter morning at sun rise.

Yes, this pic is pretty cool. But as you can guess that
is not how the real picture looks.

I have a few people ask me how I get my pictures to look like they do. If I use photo shop or some really expensive photo editing software. Well I am a volunteer missionary, so nope I don't use photo shop or crazy expensive software. I just use the basic iphoto edit, and for a few extra quirks here and there a free software called GIMP.

So there you go. The secrets out :)

Porte e Shqiperi

Barbulinja, Albania 5.28.2009

Because of many wars in Albania’s history, every house is protected by high cement walls and iron gates. Most gates have some defining quality, from design to color. I was very intrigued by there way of expressing themselves.
This gate belonged to a family who became a vital part of starting a ministry in this small village.

Fshat ne Shqiperi

Barbulinja, Albania 5.28.2009

To me the word village did not mean much before I came to Albania. It was a word I heard in medieval history or talking about places filled with huts in Africa.
This village was very different then both. The village of Barbulinja was 15 minutes from my home in the city. They are farmers, who live right next to each other. They let there animals roam through out the area and share green houses.
God has done amazing things in this place to open the villagers hearts and help them come together for him.

Downtown Vienna

Vienna, 8.10.2009

During a layover in Vienna I took a train into the downtown area. I got to have coffee at a sidewalk cafe, do some window shopping, and even see mozart.

Streets of Macedonia

Ohrid, Macedonia 4.15.2009

I was told we were going to go see a old church on top of the mountain. I followed behind the leader as we climbed up deep thin steps, and weaved around the side until we reached this flat rocky road. I took a moment, to checkout the real life and history found deep inside this country.

Turkey Mediterranean Sea Side

Antalya, Turkey 11.28.2008

Picturesque is the word found on this perfect day at the end of November.
I stood there looking out towards the Mediterranean, and the amazingly clear blue sky, I did not want this moment to end. The afternoon sun warmed the smooth stones under my bare feet, and a small breeze every once in a while brushed along my face. Chill bumps arose on my arms and legs not from the breeze, but the pure beautifulness of this moment.

The Mediterranean

Antalya, Turkey 11.27.2008

Being able to feel the soft sea water rush around my legs while staring out into the infinite abyss of the Mediterranean was a dream come true.
I took this photo on Thanksgiving Day. I could not have been more thankful to be in awe of God’s creation.

Breda, Catholic Church, Steeple

Breda, The Netherlands 8.11.2009

While strolling through the cafe lined small streets of Breda I spotted this jaw dropping gorgeous church. The area was so peaceful and the trees frame it perfectly.

Breda, Catholic Church

Breda, The Netherlands 8.11.2009

A Catholic church found in the middle of the small bending streets of Breda. The intensity of this building, with the mysteriousness of the colorful clouds made me stop in my tracks.

Amsterdam Amstel River

Amsterdam 8.12.2009

Amsterdam is a city full of many artistic venues, culture, and people.
But for me it was the city itself that was beautiful.

Amsterdam River Side

Amsterdam 8.12.2009
Flat tall houses of different colors line the river on both sides.
It is so unique and beautifully mastered.
